What this site collects, and why.

dotnetleet.com is written and run by Jasmin Sabanovic. It collects data in three places: the inquiry form, the blog subscription and, only if you accept it, the visit statistics.

The inquiry form

When you send the form, the site stores your name, email address, the offer you are interested in, your brief, the timeline and the budget range, together with the time of sending. The same content is emailed to Jasmin@dotnetleet.com. It is used for one thing: to answer you and prepare the call you asked for. It is not added to any mailing list and it is not used for advertising.

The blog subscription

The subscribe box on the blog stores your email address and the time you subscribed, so you can be told when a new essay is published. Nothing else is sent to that address. To be removed, write to the address above.

Visit statistics

If you choose "Accept analytics", the site loads Google Analytics, which counts visits and page views and sets cookies that tell a returning browser from a new one. If you choose "Reject", or make no choice, nothing from Google Analytics is loaded and every part of the site works the same. You can change the choice at any time through "Cookie settings" in the footer; rejecting removes the Analytics cookies. Nothing you type into a form is sent to Google Analytics. The site does not react to the Do Not Track setting of a browser; the choice above is the control.

Cookies the site needs

Pages with a form set a cookie that proves the submission came from this site, and a one-time cookie carries the confirmation message after you send a form. They hold no personal data and end with your browser session or the next page.

Services used

  • SmarterASP.NET hosts the site and the database where inquiries and subscriptions are stored.
  • Google delivers the inquiry email and, if you accepted it, provides the visit statistics under Google's privacy policy.
  • Cloudflare serves the code highlighting script on blog posts, which gives it your IP address like any web request.

No data is sold or passed to anyone beyond these services.
